What is Seabrook Photo Challenge?

Seabrook Photo Challenge is a great way to post your favorite pictures of exciting times and beautiful sights experienced while spending time at Seabrook. Qualifying photos submitted before November 15 will be entered to win 12 first prizes and 1 grand prize. Please read the photo guidelines and most importantly have some fun!

Photos

Digital images can be submitted using the online entry form. Images must be formatted horizontally (vertical and panoraic photographs will not be considered) and no smaller than 800 by 600 pixels. Images should be submitted in JPG (high quality) or TIFF format. File sizes must be less than 10MB per image. Entries may be color or black and white digital scans (no allowances will be made for poor-quality scans).

Please do not send prints or slides to Seabrook Photo Challenge.

Minor digital enhancement is permitted, but images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified.

Please note that Seabrook Photo Challenge does not allow names, logos or writing on photo entries. These markings must be removed prior to submission.

Not Permitted:

• No borders or frames may be added to images.
• No watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to images (All winning images will be displayed with the photographer's name).
• Adding or replacing elements in an image is not permitted.
• Artistic filters are not permitted.

Permitted Modifications:

• Images may be cropped and rotated as necessary as long as the rectangular format is maintained and the size is within the specifications above.
• Images may be resized as long as the aspect ratio is maintained.
• Red-eye removal and spot editing.
• One-step enhancement (such as "AutoFix", "QuickFix", "Auto Levels", etc.).
• Use of filters to sharpen, soften, blur, despeckle, or remove noise.
• Use of corrective functions to improve the natural appearance of the image, such as levels, contrast, brightness, curves, intensity, tone, hue, saturation, lightness, value, color balance, and tint.

Photos that are sexually explicit or offensive in any way will not be accepted or displayed on the website.

Prizes

The 12 first prize photographs will be featured as monthly artwork in an upcoming 2010 Seabrook calendar. Each one of the first prize photographers will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to Front Street Cafe redeemable in 2011.

The grand prize winner will be awarded the very prominent cover spot, fronting the Seabrook calendar and an Electra beach cruiser bicycle decorated with all the Seabrook frills.
